Event Description:

Do you have what it takes to be named the best backyard BBQ chef? The Centera Bank Backyard BBQ Contest brings local grill masters to Wright Park for a fun and flavorful KCBS Backyard Sanctioned competition. Competitors will fire up their smokers and battle it out for cash prizes, bragging rights, and top honors. Follow the mouthwatering aromas and enjoy the excitement as backyard BBQ teams put their skills to the test! This contest is for judges only, and no public sampling will be available. Special thanks to our event sponsors: Pepsi, Q-97, Z-98, and La Ke Buena. ENTRY FEE: $50.00/ENTRY (Chicken, Ribs) OR $100.00/ENTRY (Chicken, Ribs, Misc.)

Turn in times are below. Rules will follow the KCBS guidelines and be judged accordingly, this is a KCBS sanctioned event. Serving size for judging is 6 and there is no power available for Backyard cooks.

5:15 PM – KidsQ Cook Meeting
5:30 PM – KidsQ Cooking Begins
6:30 PM – Slider Turn-In (Kids)
7:00 PM – Steak Turn-In (Kids)
8:15 PM – KidsQ Awards Ceremony
8:30 PM – Cooks Meeting for Saturday (Pro/Backyard)
