Think you’ve got what it takes to be crowned the best backyard chef? Join us for the Centera Bank Backyard BBQ Contest, a KCBS Backyard Sanctioned event, where local grill masters compete for cash prizes and bragging rights.
  • THIS IS A KCBS SANTIONED CONTEST
  • ENTRY FEE: $150.00/ENTRY (Chicken, Brisket, Pork Ribs) 
  • KCBS SCORING METRIC
Turn in times are below. Rules will follow the KCBS guidelines and be judged accordingly, this is a KCBS sanctioned event. Serving size for judging is 6 and there is no power available for Backyard cooks. 
 

Friday, July 24 – KidsQ Competition

  • All Day – KidsQ Registration

  • 5:15 PM – KidsQ Cook Meeting

  • 5:30 PM – KidsQ Cooking Begins

  • 6:30 PM – Slider Turn-In (Kids)

  • 7:00 PM – Steak Turn-In (Kids)

  • 8:15 PM – KidsQ Awards Ceremony

  • 8:30 PM – Cooks Meeting for Saturday (Pro/Backyard)

Saturday, July 25 – Pro & Backyard Competitions

  • 12:00 PM – Pro & Backyard Chicken Turn-In

  • 12:30 PM – Pro & Backyard Pork Ribs Turn-In

  • 1:00 PM – Pro Shoulder or Butt Turn-In

  • 1:30 PM – Pro & Backyard Beef Brisket Turn-In

  • 2:00 PM – Pro Misc. Turn-In

  • 3:00 PM – Backyard & Pitmaster Awards
